VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO HOST COTTAGE MEETINGS: This time of transition in which we at Trinity UCC now find ourselves is really a blessing for it is during this time that we are afforded the opportunity to take a fresh look at our church life to consider whether we want to make any changes or if there are programs and directions we already have in place that we want to keep and continue. Your Transition Team will begin to conduct “Cottage Meetings” during the second week of March. The purpose of these meetings is to provide a comfortable setting within the homes of several of our members to facilitate the sharing of open and frank communication about Trinity UCC – past, present and future. Our goal is to give every participant in each Cottage Meeting the opportunity to express his/her opinions without any criticism or judgment from any of the other participants. We have developed a structured format specifically designed to accomplish this goal. To achieve the essence of a true “Cottage Meeting” we must keep the number of participants small. So, it is very important that we limit the number of participants at each meeting to no more than 10 people. Having given you this overview, the Transition Team now requests each of you to consider hosting a Cottage Meeting. We need at least 12 volunteers – a few more would be fantastic! Again, we will be following a structured format that includes definite time limitations to insure that our meetings last no longer than 1.5 to 2.0 hours. Of course, we want each host/hostess to choose the date and time of day that best fits his/her schedule.
